Twitter is aflutter with all the Patrick Dempsey sightings in Montreal news! We were all hoping he would go to the race, but were unsure he would make it. But to the surprise and delight of his fans, our friend Patrick Dempsey is there!!! Now I don’t believe he is racing in this race, but he is in Montreal!

Can’t wait to hear about tomorrows goings on from our friend on the scene Alicia! A little jealousy is in my bones, but I am thrilled for her!

In talking with our friend Jim, he stated that this was not a race, but a parade. Because Patrick isn’t allowed to race right now because of his Valentine’s contract.  (which makes sense- can’t get hurt while finishing a major production like that)

So here he was, in a “parade” that was not a race, but got to put on his racing suit which had to thrill him, but definitely thrilled his fans. You can just tell when someone is doing something they love; it is a fire in their eyes. And this is a true statement when it comes to racing (oops not racing, parading in a race car?) for Patrick.

Patrick got to ride this very cool car....Called a Mazda RX-792P. From what I have read the car was/is loud, fast and impressive! According to Wikipedia:

The Mazda RX-792P was a racing car built for the IMSA GT Championship‘s GTP category for Mazda. Its career was short lived, with only two cars running in 1992 before the project was abandoned.

The car’s name would be a combination of Mazda’s RX-7 road car, the year the car raced, and the fact that it was a prototype.

Here is one of him in his racing suit. I don’t really know what they are called. LOL I keep wanting to say flight suit? Anyway, he looks good and we appreciate him looking good!

[UPDATE] Unfortunately we have been told that Patrick is not amongst the racing team for this race. We are very sorry to not see our favorite guy at the race, especially those of us who are at the race.   I’m guessing he had prior commitments that kept him from attending and I am sure he is none too happy about it. Well neither are we Pat!  I sincerely hope you get to make it to Miller Motorsports Park because that the race I am going to!

These days the news of Patrick Dempsey is all over the web. Paparazzi taking pictures of him riding his bike in preparation for the Dempsey Challenge in order to raise money for the Dempsey Center…Or they are taking pictures of him on the set of Grey’s Anatomy and George’s funeral…Or he is on the set of the up and coming ensemble cast movie, Valentines.

However that is NOT where our friend and actor will be tomorrow (Thursday August 6th) and Friday the 7th. Nope, he will be at the Watkins Glen International where he will be qualifying and racing along with his buddy and teammate Joe Foster (who we Dempsey Dolls call affectionately Speedy Joe) for the Rolex Sports Car series.

We are looking so forward to this race! The last race was a GREAT one for Dempsey Racing, but Patrick wasn’t there! So we are excited to see how the team does with Patrick. (Zoom Zoom Dempsey )

So if any of you fans are near the Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, NY; this is a great way to get to meet Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster! They are always hands on and ready to sign autographs. (and then don’t forget to send me your story and picture with one or both of the guys! )

Patrick Dempsey Fan gets Interview!

I was torn. I didn’t know if I could be a hard core Dempsey Racing fan with NO Patrick Dempsey there. I didn’t promise to watch the race with my twitter friends, I didn’t promise myself I would watch. When I woke up this morning I decided that I would hear about the race from my friend @zennish and that would be enough for me. There was a turd of a man who twittered that the reason Dempsey Racing had a good qualification time was because Patrick wasn’t there. Irritated by that and along with my other reasons… I wasn’t sure I would watch.

Then my eyes were drawn to the tvguide of SpeedTV….I saw that they had a Mid Ohio Motorcycle race on when I got up.  Then I noticed that my girlfriends fiance Shawn Higbee was racing in that race so I watched it. (He came in 10th) Then I noticed that the Rolex Porsche 250 was on at noon.

Started cleaning my house and at 12:06 I couldn’t stand it and turned on the race. From the start Dempsey Racing was in a great position as they had such a great qualifying time. At one point I noticed that Joe Foster was in #2 position!

Making his pit stop put him into 11place. But Joe quickly gained back and was up to #2 again before Charles Espenlaub took the seat. With Charlie in the seat of the #40 Mazda Rx8 they finished the race, virtually unscathed (except for losing part of their back end at one point) in the number 4 position.

A very nice finish for Dempsey Racing! And I was yelling at the TV and had my eyes glued to the TV even though my friend Patrick was not there. I couldn’t believe it….. but I suppose I have been transformed into a sports girl thanks to Patrick.

We missed you Patrick! A lot! But we are proud of your team, they did WONDERFUL and I know you are proud too. Did you bite your nails while watching it? I know I did.

Now we can wear Tshirts like the boys in Dempsey Racing do! We fans went a little nuts about the shirts when we saw them on Patrick Dempsey at the  Brumos 250 race in Daytona.   We had already been bugging the powers that be at El Grado Tequila to see if there was anything in the works for these shirts! And now they are here!

I will post the link on the site as well as here on this post. YAY! I really want to buy one, but I am broke. I also am in the middle of a weight loss so I am not sure I what size I will end up at.
