This is one of my favorite movies. Patrick Dempsey who plays Ronald Miller who is a geek who desires to be popular. Amanda Peterson plays Cindy Mancini who is Miss popular herself.
Who doesn’t know this story? And if you don’t you should be ashamed. LOL
Ronald saves his money by mowing lawns and buys Cindy (who “borrows” her mothers all suede outfit to be super super cool at a party and spills wine on it) out her predicament and enlists her to make him cool.
The story progresses, Cindy begins to like Ronald who has let new found popularity go to his head. Drama ensues and his secret that he paid Cindy to make him popular gets out. As quick as he became popular he lost it. The end of the story leaves us with Ronald who realized his mistake and learned a good lesson. Cindy and Ronald seem to be together as they ride off in the sunset on a lawn mower.

Okay to say it that way sounds ridiculous, but hey, I was 16 when this movie came out and I LOVED it. As the geek… I get it. I always wanted to be popular and this movie spoke to all of us geeks. For sure.
