Patrick Dempsey: A-List Movie and Television Star, Dempsey Racing Grand-Am Series Race Car Driver, founder of The Patrick Dempsey Center for Hope and Healing and The Dempsey Challenge, Fragrance Creator and Family Man.

Patrick Dempsey learned the science and art of balance in his youth when he learned to juggle and ride a unicycle. Now, a man who is experiencing a second-wave of Hollywood fame, he is juggling more than just balls, pins and plates. He manages to balance his Hollywood day job as neursurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd (aka McDreamy), a movie career, his race career with Dempsey Racing, his love of cycling, his Cancer foundation and his family with grace and enthusiasm. It is his zest for life, setting goals, and overcoming obstacles that make him beloved by many. He's handsome, friendly, and all kinds of McDreamy. He even has his own fragrance line!

Here at the Patrick-G-Dempsey Fansite you will find the latest news, events, pictures and information on a Celebrity who uses his A-list status to reach his dreams and to give back to the community. After all, as Patrick Dempsey once said in an interview for People Magazine "Celebrity in itself is not that fabulous, but if you can use it to help make a change, it's great."

EMCO Gears Classic Practice

Patrick and Dempsey Racing did well in practice with a 5th place position and  a best time of 1:38:772. I think that the Le Mans has definitely given them the confidence they need to move forward and make a great race in Ohio.

As adapted from my good friend @zennish blog:

I’ve been watching Live Stream of the multiple practice sessions today thanks
to http://grand-am.com/ . Foster who has been renamed “Speedy Joe” by my
friends and I, went out first under wet conditions. He was able to complete
what looks like 16 laps (2 under caution) with a best lap time of 1:49. 694.

Next up was Dempsey, again renamed “Zoom Zoom” by my friends and I.
Patrick was able to complete was looks like 12 laps. He ended with the team’s
fastest lap speed at 1:38.772.

Practice session 2 occured under dry conditions.
Speedy Joe came out with a first lap time of 1:30.956. He continually shaved
seconds off lap by lap, ending with a best lap time of 1:25.662 which was 2nd
place in the GT class.

Practice session 3 started minutes after Practice 2 with driver Patrick Dempsey.
His session was short and allowed for what looks like 8 laps.
Patrick placed 5th with a best lap time of 1:27.056 in the GTclass.

Qualifying
Patrick was in the car for the qualifying round. Starting with a time of 1:31.896
and ultimately placing 11th of 16 after a lengthy caution with a time of 1:28.614.
Looks like Dempsey Racing is starting 27th of 32 tomorrow afternoon.
Next up is Practice session 4 tomorrow Saturday 20 of June 2009 at 9:40 am.

The racing world is gaining a lot of respect for Dempsey Racing and seeing beyond the actor and onto the talent! Way to go guys!
